Questions I get asked a lot.

  • Nope. You can reach out directly — no doctor's referral required.

  • If something in your life feels hard, stuck, or heavier than you can carry alone — that's enough of a reason to try. Therapy isn't just for crisis moments. It's also for people who want to understand themselves better, communicate differently, or just have a space that's entirely their own.

  • Yes — secure video sessions are available for clients throughout California. Many of my clients prefer telehealth for the flexibility it offers.

  • I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged a $150 fee.

I understand there are situations beyond your control. If something comes up, I'm willing to reschedule within the same week at no extra charge if an agreeable time is available.

Life happens — especially when you're managing a health condition or caring for family. Please just reach out as soon as you can, and we'll work it out together.

  • I am in the credentialing process to be in network for CenCal but See the Fees & Policies page for current details. I'm happy to answer specific questions about your coverage during our consultation.

  • Therapeutic fit matters more than most people realize. A bad experience doesn't mean therapy can't work — it may just mean the fit wasn't right. The consultation exists exactly for this reason. Come with your doubts. I welcome them.

  • Yes! I work with individuals 12 and up. When working with minors, we honor their confidentiality as much as possible, albeit slightly different than working with adults. We often take the first several sessions to learn more about your child’s concerns/needs and then make recommendations to continue individual therapy, transition to family therapy, or identify a combination of both. That being said, we allow the child to determine their comfort level in having their individual therapist in both roles. Our recommendations will be unique to the information we uncover, and any information we share with parents will often be more thematic (rarely specific information the child shared), or in offering parenting support to address concerns coming up in the home or school environment.

  • Yes! I am often in session during business hours, so can't be relied on to be reached by phone throughout the day, however I welcome emails and text messages as needed. That being said, I am not available 24/7, and my availability or support between sessions is limited. Some folks have found value in sharing their thoughts or experiences over email between sessions, which I can read prior to the session. Should you be experiencing a crisis, you can attempt to reach me. In an emergency, you should always call 911 or go to your local emergency room first.
